Why am I being contacted about updating my policy name?

The Beauty and Bodywork policy insures the individual technician whose name is listed as the Policy holder.

A business name can only be added to the policy's business name field if you, the insured technician, own the business. After auditing our online policies, we have found that many of our policyholders have signed up listing the business name as their workplace. We are contacting our customers who may have their employer listed as the named insured on their policy to get the business name corrected.  To get that corrected and ensure proper coverage of your business, our agents are reaching out via email and by phone. This is a legitimate audit. Please email us your business name (address on professional license or physical street address), business type (individual/sole proprietor, LLC, Corporation, Partnership), email address and physical address on file so we can correct this information.

What information do you need from me (the policyholder) to correct the business name?

Please reply to the email sent to you or email this information to [email protected].
- The Business Name: Write your business name if you are the business owner OR write your name (first and last name) if you do not own the business you work for.
Please note that: This policy only covers the Individual Technician whose name is listed on the policy. The only time a business name can be added in the business name field of the policy is if you, the insured technician, own the business. A Salon or Studio that you work for or rent a booth space from needs to be added as an additional insured but cannot be listed in the business name field of the policy or application.
- The Business type: If you are the business owner, please indicate your business type (e.g., Partnership, LLC, Corporation). Select "Sole Proprietor/Individual" if you are an independent contractor working for someone else or have a sole proprietor's license.
- Confirm Your email address: This will be the email address you used to purchase the policy or that you would like to use as your main email. (Your email is used to log in to your online account.)
- Confirm the physical address on file: If you own the business, this should be the address on your business license, OR it would be your home street address. (Please keep in mind that your policy is not location-specific. The policy will follow you anywhere in the U.S. 50 states and coverage territory.
Please email this information to [email protected] and we will update this information on your policy.

Here are some frequently asked questions:

Q. How soon would I need to update my business information?

A. Immediately. Since your policy may not be covering your business properly, we will need to get your business name corrected as soon as possible.

Q. Can I update my business name over the phone?

A. No. We need to have all the information to update your policy in writing (email) to ensure the proper spelling.

Q. Why is it important that I have my business information on the policy when I am working for another business?

A. Even though you are working for another business, it is important that you have your own business information listed as the Named Insured as it insures you for the services that you provide. This policy is intended to follow you to other business locations, as long as you are providing the same qualified services.

Q. My employer requires me to list them on my policy. How do I do that?

A. Your employer must be added to your policy as an Additional Insured. A Certificate of Liability (COI) document will be generated with their name on it. This will allow for proper coverage for your business and the business you work for if the latter is faced with a claim because of your services.
